Description

The co-financing guideline of the Lower Saxony Ministry for Federal and European Affairs and Regional Development supports financially weak municipalities in Lower Saxony in meeting the equity requirements for EU-funded projects. Public institutions in small and medium-sized towns, municipalities, and districts can apply for a non-repayable grant that covers part of the necessary co-financing. The program promotes measures in the areas of regional development, infrastructure, agriculture & rural development, as well as urban development, with the aim of efficiently implementing regional development and infrastructure projects and strengthening the competitiveness of the regions. Applications can be submitted continuously, allowing projects to be flexibly adapted to the respective needs.

Funding is provided to municipalities and districts with proven financially weak budgets that already have planning or approval for an EU-funded project. The regular, ongoing submission process eliminates rigid deadlines and enables needs-based funding applications. The measure particularly supports projects that contribute to realizing sustainable development strategies in harmony with economic, social, cultural, and ecological concerns. The program relies on close support from the regional offices for state development, thereby creating a reliable planning basis for all parties involved. Interested municipal administrations can find all important information and application documents directly at the responsible Office for Regional State Development in the operational areas of Braunschweig, Leine-Weser, Lüneburg, and Weser-Ems.
