The Municipal Investment Promotion Act (KInvFG) provides a sustainable source of funding in Baden-Württemberg for the expansion and modernization of municipal infrastructure. Through targeted grants, the state supports projects in the areas of urban development, road renewal, educational facilities, as well as water and wastewater management. The support aims to strengthen the financial capacity of municipalities and municipal associations in order to improve the quality of life locally and advance future-oriented urban development. The funding contributes to sustainable adaptation to demographic changes and helps to strengthen regional economic structures.

Eligible for funding are public institutions, in particular municipalities, cities, and municipal associations in Baden-Württemberg, which independently plan and implement investment projects. Applications can be submitted continuously to the Freiburg Regional Council, allowing for prompt responses to project needs. The amount of the grants is based on the project-specific investment costs and is granted according to need. Interested administrations and municipal decision-makers receive timely decisions and support throughout the entire application process. The KInvFG thus strengthens municipal capacity for action and supports social, ecological, and economic progress in the regions.
