State contribution to personnel and material expenses of the Carinthian State Archive

This state contribution supports public institutions in Carinthia in securing the personnel and material expenses of the Carinthian State Archive, thereby sustainably preserving the cultural and scientific heritage of the state. Funding is provided for both personnel costs and material resources used in accordance with the tasks defined in the Carinthian State Archive Act (K-LAG § 5). The funds are continuously available as a direct grant and are based on an annual budget approval. The objective is the proper and appropriate archiving of records worthy of preservation to ensure permanent accessibility for research, education, and administration in the public interest.

Eligible to apply are state authorities, offices, and other public bodies in Carinthia that perform archiving tasks and offer archival materials in accordance with the K-LAG. A prerequisite for funding is the fulfillment of the statutory archiving duties (§ 5 K-LAG). Eligible costs include all personnel expenses as well as material expenditures related to the inventory, storage, and indexing of archival materials. The funding not only strengthens the material infrastructure but also further develops the networking of expertise in the fields of culture, science, media, as well as research & innovation. Through continuous funding, a transparent and efficient archival system is created in the long term, securing public records for future generations.
