Department 14 – Arts and Culture in the Office of the Carinthian State Government is responsible for funding and legal matters in the field of arts and culture in Carinthia. It implements the provisions of the Carinthian Cultural Funding Act (K-KFördG 2001) and provides basic and project funding in the areas of visual arts and design, music, performing arts, literature, science and cultural fundamental research, folk culture and heritage preservation, electronic media, photography and film, as well as annual activities (basic financing). Furthermore, the department oversees institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art Carinthia (MMKK), coordinates EU funding and international cultural projects, and offers extensive services and advisory support for applicants.

Department 14 – Arts and Culture promotes the diversity and uniqueness of Carinthia's art and cultural landscape through targeted financial support and legal guidance. It contributes to ensuring cultural innovation, quality, and sustainability, and strengthens the dialogue between artists, institutions, and the public.

Natural and legal persons are supported, in particular artists and cultural workers from all disciplines, cultural associations and initiatives in Carinthia, museums, archives and cultural institutions, project sponsors of public and private cultural programs, as well as organizations of folk culture and traditional customs.
