Description

The initiative “Laura Bassi: Shaping an Equal Opportunity Future” supports innovation projects across Austria within network consortia, with a special focus on diversity dimensions. Projects are eligible for funding if they involve at least three partners (including at least two SMEs) or at least two non-commercial organizations in cooperation with an SME. The project duration is up to 36 months, with total eligible costs ranging between EUR 100,000 and EUR 500,000. Funding is provided in the form of a non-repayable grant. Project applicants may include companies of all sizes, start-ups, research institutions, civil society, and non-profit organizations. The objective is to achieve a sustainable leap in quality and innovation through structured network collaboration, to develop products, processes, or services with collective added value, and thereby make a significant contribution to the realization of an equal opportunity future.

The evaluation focuses on the degree of innovation, the integration of diversity and equal opportunity aspects, the consortium structure, and the long-term impact. Eligible expenses include personnel costs, material and travel expenses, instruments and equipment, contract research, consulting, as well as additional overhead costs. Submissions are made electronically via eCall, starting with the next call period from 01.10.2026 to 26.02.2027. The essential documents include the project description, financing plan, consortium agreement, and a current company register excerpt. The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) serves as the processing body for inquiries and ensures targeted use of funds and evaluation of funded projects through risk-based controls and regular reporting.
