Description

Mathe.Forscher is a nationwide program that supports educational institutions and teachers in primary and secondary education in implementing exploratory, research-based, and project-oriented mathematics instruction. The goal is to empower students to become independent Math Researchers by exploring mathematical phenomena within their everyday lives. The program offers scientific consultation by mathematics educators, process support, and a needs-based training offer. In this process, teachers take on the role of learning facilitators and collaboratively develop research questions with the students, which are independently answered both inside and outside the classroom. This approach aims to create a sustainable access to mathematics that sparks curiosity and strengthens competencies.

In addition to content support, Mathe.Forscher enables networking among participating schools: regional and supra-regional network meetings provide platforms for professional exchange and the presentation of original teaching ideas. Project funds can be applied for, among other things, to cover material costs to implement innovative activities such as teaching projects, competition entries, or team teaching. Registration is possible on an ongoing basis; there is no fixed deadline. This allows the funding to be flexibly integrated into everyday school life. Teachers and educational institutions benefit in the long term from continuous support, a professional network, and practice-oriented impulses that make mathematics instruction lively and future-oriented.
