Description
Mobile youth work/streetwork in Lower Austria promotes outreach services with a secondary and tertiary preventive approach for young people who have so far rarely or not at all accessed fixed-location counseling and support services. Non-profit providers develop low-threshold interventions on site to identify destructive conflict resolution strategies and jointly develop future-oriented alternatives. The program places particular emphasis on relationship work, trustful exchange, and the strengthening of social skills, so that young people in individual life situations are purposefully supported and empowered in their participation.
Funding is provided as a flat-rate grant for non-profit organizations with established eligibility according to § 26 of the Lower Austrian Child and Youth Welfare Act. Applications can be submitted at any time – initial applications by March 31, follow-up applications by January 31 of each year. Funding requirements include compliance with the flat-rate funding guidelines (resolution dated 20.12.2005) as well as proof of establishment in the official decision. A standardized application form and a current excerpt from the association or commercial register are required for the application. The decision is based on the priority level according to § 8 of the guidelines and the availability of budgetary funds. This provides mobile youth work with sustainable and needs-based financial security.
