Description
IFB Hamburg supports the modernization and expansion of high-quality bicycle parking facilities on private and commercial properties in Hamburg. Funding is provided for canopies, enclosures, bicycle boxes as well as small bicycle garages or collective garages, and the conversion of rooms in basements, ground floors, or upper floors. Equipment elements such as leaning bars, double-decker parking systems, ramps, and electric door openers, as well as the installation of electric charging connections, are also eligible measures. The aim is to increase safety, comfort, and weather protection for cyclists and to provide contemporary parking options outside of public areas. Eligible applicants are owners of multi-family houses with more than four residential units as well as commercially used properties with more than ten workplaces, provided the original building permit was granted before 01/01/2011.
The non-repayable grant covers 40% of the recognized costs up to a maximum of €300 per parking space (or €400 for electric charging connections); a funding rate of 20% applies to the conversion of existing facilities. Only measures for the construction, expansion, or quality improvement of parking facilities are eligible—maintenance, repair, and demolition costs are excluded. Applications can be submitted continuously but must be approved before the start of the project. Submission must include the completed application form, the original document signed by all owners, and the required proofs and documents. IFB Hamburg reviews applications promptly so that the project can start immediately after approval.
