Description
The settlement grants for young farmers in Brandenburg and Berlin support start-up and takeover projects of young agricultural enterprises. With a fixed amount of €75,000, start-ups, intra- and extra-family business takeovers, as well as the sustainable development of rural enterprises, are supported. The payment is made in three installments of €25,000 each over an approval period of 36 months. The aim is to increase the attractiveness of settlement, facilitate access to land and capital, ensure income security, and promote diversification of farm structures. Applications can be submitted continuously until 31.12.2027 via the digital IAP system of the State Office for Rural Development, Agriculture and Land Consolidation. The granting authority is the Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg (ILB). Missing or late-submitted documents will lead to the rejection of the application.
Funding is provided to sole proprietorships and partnerships with farm managers up to the age of 40 who are founding, purchasing, or taking over a farm for the first time and have their main residence and farm location in Brandenburg or Berlin. Requirements include, among others, a professional qualification in the agricultural sector, a positive income forecast (prosperity threshold: average maximum €110,000 for singles and €150,000 for married applicants), and a formal farm development plan for at least three years. The requested operating expenses must amount to at least €75,000 within the planned business years. Enterprises must not exceed the EU SME definition and must achieve a minimum score in the project selection criteria. Proofs to be submitted include, among others, identity card, lease or purchase contracts, commercial register excerpt, business development plan, and tax assessments.
