Description
The Lower Austria housing subsidy “Out of Gas and Oil in Lower Austria” supports the replacement of fossil fuel heating systems in single-family and two-family houses as well as terraced houses with renewable heating systems. Applicants can apply for a non-repayable grant amounting to 20 % of the recognized investment costs, but no more than €3,000. Subsidized systems include, among others, heating systems based on solid biogenic fuels (Austrian Eco-label UZ 37), electrically operated heat pump systems with EHPA quality seal, as well as district heating connections, provided that at least 80% of the heat comes from renewable sources. Interested parties must be natural persons with their main residence in Lower Austria and be the owner or user of the building. Investments must have been completed and commissioned from 01.01.2022 onwards. A prerequisite is also the complete removal and professional disposal of the old heating boiler. For heat pumps, a SCOP ≥ 3.5 and a maximum flow temperature of 40 °C apply.
Applications are accepted after installation until the funding volume is exhausted. Applicants submit the completed application form, invoices with proof of payment, proof of completion and commissioning, required building authority permits, and, if applicable, an owner’s consent to the Finance Department (F1) of the Lower Austria State Government. Access for inspections must be granted during the funding review. Payment is made based on the actual investment costs. The aim of the measure is a sustainable reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through the consistent switch to climate-friendly heating technologies.
