Description

The object and project funding for homelessness and housing assistance supports non-profit organizations, cooperatives, companies, interest groups, and public institutions active in Vienna through grants for the ongoing operation of facilities as well as for temporary or one-time projects. The goal is to ensure adequate sleeping and living spaces as well as psychosocial support to enable homeless individuals or those threatened by housing loss a sustainable reintegration into an independent form of housing. The funding is based on the General and Specific Funding Guidelines of the Fonds Soziales Wien (FSW) and is granted with consideration of quality management, appropriateness, and economy. Continuous documentation, evaluation, and quality assurance are required. Applications can be submitted year-round and approved flexibly depending on the scope of the project.

Personnel costs, material costs, and rental costs are funded, provided the applicant reaches the target group and meets the requirements: homelessness or risk of housing loss, presence of social hardship, need for support, main residence in Vienna, minimum social security income, lack of usable assets, as well as Austrian citizenship or equivalency. The grant is awarded after reviewing the necessity of the offer, financial capacity, and a coherent organizational concept. The application must include, among other documents, requests for object or project funding, annual financial statements with audit report, budget estimate, as well as performance and organizational descriptions. The decision and disbursement of funds are made in writing; recoveries are possible in case of misuse of funds. The funding documents are available as PDFs on the FSW website.
