Description
The funding program "Grandma Service" of the City of Vienna supports the Catholic Family Association of the Archdiocese of Vienna (KFVW) in providing a flexible, hourly childcare service by experienced "Grandma Service" caregivers. The goal is to relieve parents and legal guardians in cases of work-related childcare needs outside regular opening hours – such as on weekends or during night hours – as well as in family emergencies. In addition to the placement of qualified caregivers, seminars and courses are organized to contribute to quality assurance and the further training of personnel. The maximum funding amount is up to €19,900 per year, with up to 30% eligible as overhead costs. Funding primarily covers personnel costs, material costs, and seminar costs; non-eligible expenses include, among others, representation costs, travel expenses within Vienna, travel costs, gifts, and gratuities.
To apply, the KFVW as the applicant must conclude a funding agreement with the City of Vienna. Required documentation includes, among others, an income-expenditure statement, a signed consent form with photo ID, a current criminal record extract, as well as association statutes or annual financial statements. Applications can be submitted until August 31, 2026, with disbursement occurring after a legally valid funding contract and budgetary availability. The funding aims to establish a needs-based, intergenerational care model that individually and sustainably supports the daily lives of families in Vienna.
