Outplacement Foundations

The outplacement foundations of the Vienna Employees’ Promotion Fund (waff) offer privately insured individuals in Vienna a comprehensive package of information, career orientation, as well as initial and further training to pave the way back into employment. In close coordination with the Public Employment Service (AMS), individual education plans are developed, defining qualification steps and new professional directions. Additionally, the foundations support active job search, intensive care for older participants, and, if needed, preparation for business start-ups. Since January 1, 2022, these subsidies have been available without time limitation and are governed by the provisions of the Unemployment Insurance Act (§ 18 paras. 6–9 AlVG) as well as the AMS federal guidelines.

Eligible to participate are persons with terminated employment relationships or unemployed individuals threatened by job loss who are entitled to unemployment benefits and can prove their main residence in Austria – in the case of the insolvency foundation, in Vienna. A prerequisite for entry into the outplacement foundation is the mutual consent of the company and works council as well as an assessment of placement capability. Only the costs of qualification measures are funded. For the application, among other documents, registration certificate, admission application, data protection declaration, invoices, as well as proof of participation and payment reimbursement must be submitted. Thanks to the ongoing application procedure, funding requests can be submitted at any time, with the allocation granted in the form of a non-repayable grant.
