Peter Pichler Prize

The Peter Pichler Prize of the MEGA Education Foundation annually honors outstanding educational initiatives in the fields of art and music that combine entrepreneurial thinking with social value. With a total endowment of €30,000, this prize offers a continuous funding opportunity to non-profit organizations, educational institutions, interest groups, and associations throughout Austria. Projects are recognized for their innovative strength and tangible benefits to society. The focus is always on artistic educational formats that provide creative impulses while simultaneously establishing sustainable structures for cultural participation. The Peter Pichler Prize targets initiatives that rethink music and art education, particularly engaging young people to develop their individual potentials and promote intercultural exchange.

For the selection of the winners, the jury applies three central evaluation criteria: the project's level of innovation, its social impact, and the entrepreneurial approach. The supported projects range from inclusive music workshops and interdisciplinary art and theater projects to social design and media initiatives. Through the award, recipients receive not only financial support but also public recognition and access to a network of experts from culture, education, and business.
