Prevention Projects in the Field of Violence Protection

The funding supports non-profit organizations and public institutions throughout Austria in the development and implementation of prevention projects in the field of violence protection. The focus is on measures that link preventive approaches with protection and counseling services, provide advice and active assistance to those affected, and strengthen civil courage among the population. Through networking activities with governmental and non-governmental institutions, a sustainable network is established that makes a significant contribution to curbing violence against women, minors, and other vulnerable target groups. Applications can be submitted at any time, ensuring flexible project planning and rapid allocation of funds. The funding is provided in the form of a direct grant and is based on the provisions of the Security Police Act as well as the General Framework Directive for Federal Funds (ARR 2014).

Funded initiatives cover the thematic areas of social affairs, promotion of women, child and youth welfare, as well as social cohesion and democracy. They contribute to addressing violence as a societal challenge and to establishing long-term preventive structures. By supporting training and information offerings for professionals, developing innovative prevention concepts, and strengthening local networks, the program makes an important contribution to promoting a safe living environment. The provided funds assist initiators in implementing effective protective measures and initiating sustainable societal change.
