Private Primary and Secondary Schools; Application for a Grant for Construction Measures

Private primary and middle schools in Bavaria can continuously receive state construction cost subsidies for urgently required and school supervisory approved construction measures. Eligible for funding are non-profit sponsors as legal entities under public or private law. The subsidies cover 60% of the eligible expenses, in special cases up to 70%, provided the costs exceed the minimum value of 25,000 euros and are calculated according to municipal financial equalization. A two-year waiting period since the last funding must be observed (exception: denominational church schools). Applications can be submitted at any time without deadline, thereby quickly creating planning security for modernization, expansion, or maintenance of school buildings.

The construction cost subsidies aim to strengthen private substitute schools in their educational infrastructure and to maintain attractive learning environments in the long term. State funding makes a significant contribution to improving spatial facilities and supports sponsors in creating contemporary conditions for teaching and further education. For the application, the "List of Documents for Construction Funding according to the School Financing Act" must be used. Interested school sponsors thus gain uncomplicated access to financial resources that are oriented towards the expenses of public school construction projects. This funding helps to sustainably secure the expansion and preservation of private primary and middle schools and to maintain the high quality of school infrastructure in Bavaria.
