Funding objective
Promotion of the creation of new or the comprehensive modernization of existing guest rooms and holiday apartments for private accommodation and independent lodging businesses with up to a maximum of 10 beds, in order to strengthen the supply and competitiveness of the Burgenland tourism industry.

Description
The Private Room Promotion Program Burgenland 2024–2030 is aimed at natural persons or partnerships (e.g., GesbR) from Burgenland who, together with members of the owner family, offer guest rooms and/or holiday apartments (maximum 10 beds) for private accommodation or independent lodging businesses. Investments in new or modernized guest rooms including sanitary facilities, the furnishing of breakfast and common rooms, as well as the equipment of holiday apartments are eligible for funding. An additional premium for barrier-free or disability-accessible design measures can be applied for. Eligible costs must each amount to at least three times the requested grant; small invoices under €150 are excluded. Project commencement is only possible after submission of the complete application form. Applications must be submitted by December 31, 2030, at the latest, to the Wirtschaftsagentur Burgenland GmbH in Eisenstadt or the Güssing branch office.
Requirements include a location in Burgenland, the commitment to rent out the funded units for at least five years, and proof of a minimum rating of 3 suns/flowers/stars after the investment. During the monitoring period, each unit must achieve and document at least 100 overnight stays annually. Required documents include the application form, guidelines, municipal confirmation, declaration of commitment, completion notification, overnight stay data, cost estimates/invoices, proof of categorization, trade register excerpt, as well as floor plans or building permits. The objective of the funding guideline is to strengthen the competitiveness of Burgenland’s tourism industry by creating contemporary private accommodations and sustainably modernizing existing guest rooms and holiday apartments.
