Description

The Matrong Cultural Foundation enables non-profit organizations, educational institutions, foundations, public bodies, interest groups, and associations nationwide to receive financial support for non-commercial programs and individual projects in the field of arts and culture, with a focus on theater/drama. In addition to project-specific funding, institutional initiatives are supported provided they pursue the same charitable purposes as the foundation and can demonstrate legal non-profit status in accordance with the tax code. Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis; however, funds for the year 2024 have already been exhausted. The aim of the funding is to strengthen professionally active artists, theater practitioners, and non-profit institutions committed to promoting young talent and realizing projects with cultural and educational added value.

Individual concepts that have not yet appeared commercially at the time of application and are to be completed within a maximum of twelve months after the grant notification are eligible for funding. Requirements for consideration include a complete concept description, a clearly structured cost and financing plan, and the designation of a permanently reachable contact person. Key evaluation criteria include the professional classification in the field of theater/drama, a professional artistic implementation, a non-commercial orientation, and the contribution to talent development. Application documents include, among others, a detailed project description, project objectives, information about participants, a timeline, as well as a detailed breakdown of personnel expenses, material, and travel costs. Approval is granted in the form of a grant; following a positive decision, a written request for funds establishes the binding entitlement to payment. The Matrong Cultural Foundation obliges grant recipients to submit regular interim reports and a final report on the use of funds.
