Project Funding of the Rheinau Community Foundation

The project funding of the Bürgerstiftung Rheinau supports initiatives and individuals residing in Rheinau or with projects benefiting the Rheinau population throughout the year. Funded are endeavors that make a sustainable contribution to the common good and comply with the foundation’s purposes as defined in the statutes. The focus is on diverse thematic areas such as youth and elderly care, science and research, environmental and nature conservation, education, as well as cultural and charitable causes. Projects aimed at strengthening social cohesion, promoting international understanding and tolerance, as well as energy efficiency and climate protection are also considered. The Bürgerstiftung acts as the social center of the city, thereby fostering collaboration among citizens, associations, businesses, and public institutions.

Applications can be submitted continuously in the form of a completed PDF form—either by post or email. A prerequisite is that the project objectives align with the funding areas defined in the statutes and that the project is implemented locally in Rheinau. Evaluation criteria include the availability of funds, the clarity of the objectives, cost planning, and compatibility with the statutory purposes. Along with the completed project funding application, a description of the project idea, a detailed budget and financing plan, and proof of bank details must be submitted. The decision on grant allocation is made by the foundation council upon recommendation of the board. This flexible funding offer provides Rheinau initiatives and non-profit organizations with a reliable basis for implementing forward-looking projects.
