Project Funding by the Karl Kaus Foundation for Animal and Nature

The project funding of the Karl Kaus Foundation for Animals and Nature supports non-profit organizations, foundations, associations, public institutions, private individuals, as well as other interest groups based throughout Germany. Initiatives in the fields of environmental/nature conservation, animal welfare, energy efficiency, and climate protection are funded. As a grant provider, the foundation places special emphasis on measures that ensure the protection of wild animals and their natural habitats, promote the improvement of animal husbandry, and provide natural science educational work. Applicants must submit their project description along with a detailed cost and financing plan in writing by September 15 of each year. The decision is discussed at the annual board meeting in the fourth quarter. Partial approvals are possible to ensure long-term planning security.

A prerequisite for a positive decision is full compliance with the foundation’s purposes, high-quality project planning, and the sustainable orientation of the proposed measures. As proof, a cover letter or application form, a comprehensive project description, and a cost and financing plan must be attached. The foundation also reviews already acquired third-party funds and places great importance on the efficiency and impact of the funded projects. The funding is particularly suitable for project sponsors who are sustainably committed to animal and nature conservation and wish to contribute to the preservation of biodiversity through their projects.
