Description
The project funding of the Zukunft bilden – Andrea & Markus Eisel Foundation supports non-profit organizations and educational institutions nationwide that promote self-directed learning and sustainable educational approaches for children and youth. Funded are pedagogical and extracurricular educational projects, research and innovation initiatives, as well as projects in the fields of environmental and climate protection. Applications can be submitted continuously; the board usually decides three to four times a year. Funds for the year 2026 have already been allocated; applications for 2027 will be considered from October 2026 onwards. The maximum funding amount is up to €5,000 per year for a project duration of up to 36 months. Scholarships for individuals and charitable purposes are not eligible for funding.
The funding program aims to create conditions in which children and youth can develop their potential and learn in a self-organized manner. Special focus areas include strengthening democracy, children’s rights, ethnic and religious diversity, as well as equality of all gender identities. Projects in disadvantaged regions and those with an ecological focus are also given preference. Applicants based in Germany require a current tax exemption certificate according to § 52 AO; foreign institutions clarify their non-profit status with the foundation in advance. Required documents include a project description with objectives, target groups, action and financial plan, a brief presentation of the organization, information on cooperation partners, contact details of the responsible person, as well as the requested amount with bank details. An informal submission is sufficient, after which the board makes the decision at the next funding date.
