Description
In the federal state of Vienna, the program “Regional Cultural Initiatives: Individuals” supports privately active cultural workers and freelance artists from all disciplines. Grants are available in the form of travel cost subsidies, project cost grants, and scholarships to sustainably anchor contemporary art in society and ensure stable framework conditions. The program covers the thematic areas of culture and culture & media and enables continuous access – applications must be submitted at least three months before the start of the planned project. A special focus is placed on funding mobility programs that support professional exchange and cooperation across regional borders. This offer is particularly interesting for individual projects realized outside established structures that set new artistic impulses.
A prerequisite for funding under § 4 of the Art Funding Act 1988 is an application to the competent Federal Ministry as well as proof that the project cannot be fully realized without this financial support and that other funding grants have already been indicated. Award decisions are made by experts from the Arts and Culture Section. A personal contribution must be provided according to the economic capacity of the applicants. Eligible expenses include travel costs, project costs, and scholarships. For the application, the general application form and the form for scholarships, acquisitions, and studios are required. Upon completion of the project, a final report with proof of use must be submitted. The total budget, available indefinitely, amounts to approximately 0.22 million euros (valid since 01.01.2013); disbursements are published quarterly in the transparency database.
