Sibylle Kalkhof-Rose University Award

The Sibylle Kalkhof-Rose University Award annually honors outstanding researchers at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, combining scientific excellence with sustainable impact. In the two disciplines of Humanities and Social Sciences as well as Natural Sciences and Medicine, funding contributions of €25,000 each are awarded, ranking among the highest endowed prizes at JGU. The foundation thus recognizes innovative projects, significant acquisitions, and ambitious initiatives that go beyond regular basic funding and create long-term added value for the scientific landscape of Rhineland-Palatinate.

Eligible to apply are all young researchers with valid membership at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz who demonstrate proven outstanding personal and professional achievements. The call for applications is held annually; specific deadlines are announced separately each year. The award not only promotes individual successes but also lays the foundation for future collaborations and projects at JGU. By acknowledging and financially supporting exceptional undertakings, the funding creates incentives for creative research endeavors and enhances the visibility of excellent early-career researchers at both national and international levels.
