Description
Within the framework of the performance agreement 2024–2026, the federal government provides targeted funds through shareholder grants to realize the strategic objectives of Silicon Austria Labs (SAL). The funding is directed at a public institution based in Vienna and is granted as a non-repayable subsidy in accordance with the Research Funding Act (FoFinaG). With a budgeted volume of €60.25 million, innovative research and development activities in the fields of science and technology are to be promoted. The funding supports SAL in developing state-of-the-art technologies for an efficient and secure R&D&I infrastructure, thereby providing significant impetus to Austria’s research landscape. The grants are awarded for the entire three-year period (01.01.2024 to 31.12.2026) and are aligned with the objectives of the framework agreement concluded between SAL and the federal government.
A prerequisite for receiving the grants is a valid and concluded performance agreement 2024–2026 with SAL in accordance with FoFinaG. The measure particularly promotes the increase in the number of employees in the field of technology and innovation, with a special focus on raising the proportion of women as well as the development of future-proof infrastructure technologies. The program is exclusively aimed at SAL as a research-oriented institution, enabling it to further expand its performance capacity. Applications can be submitted throughout the entire funding period, with disbursements made quarterly and regularly updated transparency data providing information on the realized contributions. The reference number for this funding is 1067586.
