Description
The special investment program for sports in Hesse supports the preservation-oriented renovation, modernization, and needs-based expansion of existing sports facilities. With the adoption of the 2007 budget law, the Hessian State Parliament created an instrument that sustainably strengthens both grassroots and elite sports. Non-profit clubs and municipal sponsors who operate or own sports facilities in Hesse can submit applications at any time. In this way, the regional sports infrastructure is further developed and adapted to current requirements, which contributes in the long term to more attractive training and competition opportunities.
Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant of up to 30% of eligible costs, with a maximum of €50,000 per project. Eligible expenses include construction and investment costs, fees, as well as personnel and material costs. A proof of own funds, registration in the Hessian sports facility database, and submission of a detailed cost estimate, a financing plan with supporting documents, and a construction or site plan are prerequisites. Required documents also include the application form, information sheet on own contributions, statements from the municipality or district, as well as proof of ownership and non-profit status. Thanks to ongoing funding opportunities, a flexible planning and implementation phase is offered, supporting clubs and municipalities in the sustainable enhancement of their sports facilities.
