Description

The special funding for the mandatory childcare year in the federal state of Salzburg supports providers of institutional early childhood education and care facilities with the ongoing costs of the free 20-hour attendance requirement. As part of the agreement pursuant to Article 15a of the Federal Constitutional Law, the state of Salzburg grants a subsidy of 900 euros to public law entities and a subsidy of 1,800 euros to private law entities per cared-for child and care year. Continuous application submission without a fixed deadline allows for flexible planning, while the payment is made in two installments and covers a project duration of twelve months.

Eligible for funding are all public and private providers of kindergartens as well as age-extended groups that care for children with primary residence in the federal state of Salzburg and who have reached the age of five by August 31 of a given year. A prerequisite is the proper submission of the application to the responsible department of the Office of the Salzburg State Government. With this financial support, facility providers can design their care services to cover costs and sustainably strengthen the quality of early childhood education. Applications can be submitted at any time, ensuring uncomplicated and continuous participation in the funding program.
