Description
Companies based in Styria receive financial grants through an ongoing special funding program for the implementation of large-scale sports projects and sporting events. The aim is to support non-commercial sports offerings, enable supra-regional sporting events, and strengthen regional engagement in the sports sector. Applications are free of charge and can be submitted electronically at any time. Requirements include membership in the register of a Styrian sports club and the execution of the event within the federal state, subject to available funds and decisions by the state government.
Eligible expenses include, for example, organizational costs, technical equipment, and event logistics. Non-eligible expenses include costs such as new construction and renovation of sports facilities, land acquisition, debt repayments, legal and consulting fees, operating costs, VIP areas, catering, prize money, player transfers, and motorsport activities. For application submission, the official form "Sports Funding Application," a current extract from the club register, and, if applicable, additional documentation must be provided. Within the funding allocation, there is no legal entitlement to funding; at the same time, original invoices and payment confirmations may be required for accounting and reporting purposes.
