Description
The funding represents a grant for employers of day parents in Styria and covers income-dependent parental contributions until the children enter school. The goal is to alleviate personnel costs in recognized childcare facilities and to ensure a fair contribution rate according to the social scale of the state. Newly established facilities can submit applications annually by October 10th via the electronic system KIN-WEB; for operations starting during the care year, a deadline of two weeks after commencement applies. The funding period began on October 17, 2013, and is open indefinitely.
A prerequisite for approval is proof of operation as a day parent facility, the collection of income-dependent contributions according to the Styrian social scale, and the child's main residence or a parent's workplace in Styria. Only personnel expenses are eligible for funding. Department 6 Education and Society in the Office of the Styrian State Government manages and monitors the funding process, provides pedagogical support to over 1,000 childcare providers, and allocates annual funding exceeding 130 million euros. Unannounced supervisory visits and random checks of family net income ensure the correct determination of parental contributions.
