Description

The elite sports funding of the State of Salzburg is aimed at full-time state coaches, state performance centers, as well as Salzburg Olympic participants, and also supports the Olympic Center ULSZ Salzburg in Rif. The goal of this continuous grant funding is to sustainably secure outstanding achievements in elite sports and to create optimal conditions for training and competition. Both private individuals and non-profit organizations as well as public institutions from the state of Salzburg are eligible for funding. Through financial participation, for example, coaches’ fees can be covered, performance centers modernized, and competition preparations for Olympic participants intensified. The upper limit of the funding volume is determined annually based on the state budget, with the ongoing application possibility guaranteeing maximum flexibility and planning security for all parties involved.

For a successful application, the requirements of the “Sports Funding Guidelines” (Part 1, Sections B and D) must be observed. Essential documents include a meaningful project description, a proof of use to demonstrate previous use of funds, and for clubs or associations, statutes or bylaws as well as the current annual financial statement and budget forecast. Applications can be submitted at any time to the Office of the Salzburg State Government; there is no specific submission deadline. After a positive decision, the funding is paid out as a one-time or staggered grant. Performance monitoring is based on established EU and state legal requirements, whereby a factual proof of use and a proper final accounting are mandatory. This funding thus makes a significant contribution to promoting top performance in the Salzburg sports environment and enabling international successes.
