Description
The Sports Medicine Examination Center – Sports Medical Support assists Carinthian elite athletes in individual and team sports as well as students at schools with a sports focus by fully covering the costs of sports medical and performance diagnostic examinations. The aim of this continuously available funding is the early diagnosis, performance analysis, and individualized health care of athletes of all age groups. Funding is provided for basic and fitness examinations, laboratory analyses, ergometry tests including spirometry or lactate diagnostics, and special examinations upon application approval. This program thus contributes to the optimal care of squad and junior athletes in the state of Carinthia and ensures a comprehensive, high-quality service through accredited institutions.
Eligible to participate are sports medicine examination centers accredited by the Carinthian state government with appropriate equipment and recognized experts in general medicine or internal medicine holding a sports medicine diploma. A prerequisite is proof of at least 150 ergometries performed, a modern spirometer, lactate measuring devices, and emergency equipment in accordance with guidelines. The funding rate amounts to 100% of the services billed according to the tariff. Applications and billing can be submitted at any time and as often as desired. The accreditation decision is made by an independent expert commission that regularly evaluates criteria such as professional qualifications, equipment, and experience. This grant ensures high-quality sports medical care and contributes to the sustainable performance improvement and health maintenance of Carinthian sports talents.
