Scholarship Funding by the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony

The scholarship funding of the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony honors outstanding individual artistic achievements and provides space for the realization of new projects in visual arts, performing arts, music, literature, and film. Up to 40 working scholarships are awarded annually, complemented by additional residency programs and the Max Uhlig Travel Scholarship, thus enabling changes of location and perspective. As a host of international scholarship projects in the Free State of Saxony, the foundation also provides information on nationwide funding opportunities. Private applicants residing or working in Saxony have a continuous application option, allowing ongoing submissions. The selection is primarily based on artistic quality, the originality of the project, and its significance for personal artistic development.

Eligible expenses include living costs, travel, and accommodation expenses within the framework of residencies. To apply, a fully completed application form, a meaningful work sample or portfolio, a precise project description, and a tabular CV must be submitted. The funding is expressly aimed at individual artists active in the aforementioned disciplines who can demonstrate outstanding qualifications. It targets artists who wish to work intensively on their current projects through this financial support and advance artistic innovations.
