Description
The Intercoiffure – Herbert Burkhardt Foundation annually honors up to five outstanding talents in the hairdressing craft and supports young people aged 16 to 25 throughout Germany. Over a period of approximately 18 months, further training measures with renowned partners, professional tools, and incurred travel expenses are covered. Additionally, each scholarship recipient receives personal mentoring support from experienced coaches from the industry and Intercoiffure to realize individual career goals and enhance their own quality standards. Requirements include proof of vocational qualification, a one-minute application video, a tabular CV with portrait photo, as well as convincing certificates and statements regarding talent, commitment, and professional objectives.
The application period begins each year on January 1st, with selection taking place in March by an independent advisory board. The evaluation focuses on proof of talent and commitment, previous achievements, and clear motivation. Applicants who are not selected have the opportunity to apply again the following year. Designed as a prize or award, the program aims at a sustainable improvement of training and quality standards in the hairdressing profession and creates prospects for a successful professional future.
