Description

The Catholic Support Foundation in the Archdiocese of Hamburg supports prospective social pedagogical professionals in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania through a continuously offered scholarship program. Funding is provided to trainees (social pedagogical assistants, educators, curative educators) as well as students in part-time degree programs (e.g., Social Work) who are employed in a Catholic institution (for students, at least 15 hours per week). Full-time trainees who belong to the Catholic Church may apply at any time; part-time applications are possible until November 1 of each year. The funding rate covers up to 100% of tuition or study fees, depending on need. Additionally, scholarship recipients receive a monthly book allowance and participate in seminars and exchange meetings that offer professional impulses, insights into contemporary religious education, and networking opportunities with like-minded individuals.

In the selection process, motivation and quality of the cover letter, commitment during training or studies, as well as interest in religion and the Church play a central role. Application documents include a motivation letter, a tabular CV, a recommendation from the institution’s management, as well as certificates and other references. The funding is provided as sponsorship and aims both to reduce financial burdens and to strengthen personal development. Through the combination of financial relief and ideological support, the foundation contributes to securing qualified professionals in Catholic institutions and promotes exchange across institutional boundaries.
