Description

The UKRAINE funding line of the Ernst von Siemens Art Foundation offers public museums and collections in Germany temporary financial relief for the employment of refugee scholars and restorers from Ukraine, as well as Russian professionals who have fled to Germany due to their stance on the Ukraine war. The aim is to cover personnel costs for a maximum of 12 months, enabling these experts to be active in art historical exhibitions, restoration projects, research work, collection catalogues, catalogues raisonnés, and public outreach activities. Applications may only be submitted by public museums or collections and are accepted continuously as soon as all necessary documents are submitted in a single PDF.

Only personnel costs are funded, while investment measures, monument preservation projects, museum education, reproduction production, projects related to contemporary artists, as well as ongoing or fully funded projects are excluded. For the application, a project description (max. 3 pages), the classification and requested gross costs, the professional CV of the person to be employed, and a statement of the special urgency of the application are required. Evaluation takes into account the urgency of the application and the solidarity aspect of any co-financing. Through this solidarity contribution, the foundation can promptly provide funds to further projects and support rapid approval.
