Description

The Fund for Poverty Reduction and Social Innovation (FASI) supports initiatives nationwide that sustainably improve the living conditions of groups at risk of poverty and social exclusion as well as vulnerable groups in Austria. Targeted projects test social measures and innovative instruments to effectively address societal challenges. Funding is provided, among other things, for measures to strengthen the participation of single parents, families with multiple children, unemployed persons, the "working poor," and individuals threatened by homelessness or lack of housing. The funds are available as non-repayable grants and allow for a duration of up to 36 months, within which model approaches can address complex issues and demonstrate their effectiveness.

Eligible for funding are legal entities with a professional seat in Austria, in particular non-profit organizations, associations, foundations, public institutions, and interest groups active in the field of poverty reduction or social innovation. A prerequisite for application processing is the use of the official application form of the Ministry of Social Affairs as well as a minimum requested funding amount of €15,000. Applications can be submitted continuously until December 31, 2030; specific calls for proposals remain reserved. The fund requires a proof of use in the form of a factual report and a numerical verification; for multi-year projects, annual interim reports are foreseen. The selection decision is made on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection, taking into account the available fund resources. This funding opportunity is aimed at applicants who wish to develop innovative solutions for greater social cohesion and democratic participation.
