Support Services for Hard of Hearing and Deaf People

The funding program is aimed at hard of hearing and deaf individuals throughout Austria and supports their participation in the workforce. Through targeted grants for sign language and written interpretation services, as well as the use of new technologies, communication in the workplace is facilitated, as is participation in job-related training and educational measures. The goal is to promote job acquisition and to sustainably secure existing employment relationships. The program contributes to an inclusive working environment by providing all necessary assistance services, thereby strengthening equal opportunities regardless of hearing impairments.

Private individuals with documented hearing loss or deafness may apply at any time, as this is an ongoing funding opportunity. Explicitly supported are expenses for interpretation services in sign language and written language, as well as additional assistance that includes the use of innovative technologies. Funding is provided in the form of a grant, which is paid out directly and does not involve repayable loans. The straightforward application process enables rapid implementation, allowing hard of hearing and deaf individuals to promptly receive the necessary support services to achieve and secure their professional goals in the long term.
