Transport Technologies and Logistics Concepts; Application for Funding

The Free State of Bavaria supports pilot projects and demonstration initiatives for the rapid testing and implementation of novel traffic technologies as well as innovative logistics concepts to optimize (rail) freight transport. The goal is to improve traffic flow and enhance the environmental balance by further developing cooperation models between road, rail, water, and air transport. Particular focus is placed on measures that make interfaces in passenger and freight transport more efficient and sustainably promote regional rail freight transport. Eligible for funding are private individuals, public and private companies, research institutions, and municipalities, with a special emphasis on small and medium-sized enterprises.

The funding rate is a flat 50% of eligible expenses, which include project-related acquisitions, personnel costs, and expenses for external services. Applications can be submitted at any time without a deadline, provided that no project commencement has been agreed upon in advance and coordination with the State Ministry for Housing, Construction and Transport has taken place. The written application must be submitted to the State Ministry; technical support is provided by the responsible district government. This funding promotes forward-looking technologies and concepts in transport development that make a tangible contribution to a connected, environmentally friendly, and efficient overall transport system in the Free State.
