Description
The program "Growth and Sustainable Renewal – Shaping Livable Neighborhoods" supports urban renewal in the center of Nordenham-Einswarden in Lower Saxony. The goal is sustainable neighborhood development with a focus on climate protection, climate adaptation, green infrastructure, and accessibility. Public institutions and private individuals with ownership or disposal rights in the redevelopment area can apply for grants for measures within the framework of the integrated urban development concept (ISEK). Funding is provided, among other things, for demolition costs, land acquisition, infrastructure measures, private modernization work, as well as specific climate protection and barrier-reducing projects. The funding rate is up to 66%, with the federal and state governments covering two-thirds and the city one-third of the eligible costs.
The implementation period extends from January 2019 to December 2027, and applications can be submitted until December 31, 2027. The total funding framework amounts to approximately €1.5 million. Evaluation focuses on the consistent implementation of the ISEK, contributions to climate protection and climate adaptation, as well as the establishment of accessibility. For the application, the ISEK, the redevelopment statute, and proof of ownership must be submitted. The program offers a long-term perspective for climate-resilient and inclusive neighborhood development and is aimed at citizens as well as municipal actors who wish to actively contribute to shaping a future-proof, livable district.
