The funding is aimed at employers in Salzburg who wish to support their employees during deployment in major damage or mountain rescue operations with continued payment of wages. A flat-rate compensation of € 200 is granted for each day of deployment and each person deployed. Applications can be submitted continuously; payment is made after positive verification of all submitted evidence, including deployment reports and bank account details. This financial support relieves companies and public institutions of the costs of continued wage payment when personnel are prevented from their regular duties due to a major damage event or mountain rescue operation. The funds are reimbursed by the federal government to the state of Salzburg and are available without limitation as long as the annual budget is not exhausted.

A prerequisite for a successful application is proof of the actual deployment of the employees, supplemented by all necessary documentation. The funding agency evaluates applications based on the completeness of the documents and a positive assessment by the funding office. Incomplete or incorrect information may lead to repayment claims. The Office of the Salzburg State Government reserves the right to conduct random checks to ensure the proper use of the funds. This funding ensures that employers in the disaster and mountain rescue sector are not left bearing the costs of continued wage payments and can thus maintain their operational readiness in the long term.
