Description

The grant program for family recreation in recognized family holiday centers in Bavaria is aimed at financially disadvantaged families with their main residence in the Free State. Eligible for funding are parents, parent figures, foster parents, single parents, and in exceptional cases grandparents, provided that child benefit is received for the accompanying children and the parents cannot participate for important reasons. The objective of the measure is to enable families in economically difficult situations to take a joint recreational holiday once a year, lasting from six up to a maximum of 14 days of board. A prerequisite for a successful application is timely submission – no later than three weeks before the start of the holiday – to the Bavaria Center for Family and Social Affairs (ZBFS), as well as a binding booking only after confirmation of receipt of the application. In addition, participants must take part in an offer of parent and family education and provide proof of income limits or receipt of SGB II/XII benefits, housing allowance, or child supplement. Only one funding per year can be claimed.

The subsidy covers up to 90% of eligible accommodation costs, with a minimum personal contribution of 10%. Up to €19.50 per person per day of board is funded, and up to €25.50 for children with recognized disabilities. Travel costs, entrance fees, and other incidental expenses are excluded from the scope of funding. For the application, among other documents, the current proof of child benefit receipt, the income tax assessment notice from the year before last, or supplementary documents in case of non-assessment, as well as the IBAN for payment, must be submitted. The processing is carried out via project funding through the ZBFS; advance payment or assignment of the grant is not possible. The program offers families the opportunity to set positive impulses for living together and to sustainably strengthen the health of all involved.
