Description
The statewide funding initiative in Tyrol is exclusively aimed at non-profit organizational structures that operate animal shelters or comparable animal protection facilities. The focus is on supporting ongoing operations, covering costs for veterinary treatments, feed, and care services for escaped, abandoned, left-behind, neglected, or officially confiscated animals. Additionally, investment grants are provided to promote the construction, renovation, and energy-efficient maintenance of protective shelters, thereby also contributing to climate protection. Another objective is to raise public awareness: by funding educational measures and organizing "Pet Buddy" courses in schools and kindergartens, awareness of species-appropriate handling and shared responsibility is strengthened.
Eligible participants are facilities operated in accordance with the provisions of the Animal Protection Act (Federal Law Gazette I No. 118/2004) and managed by qualified personnel. Projects are funded for a period of up to twelve months. Eligible expenses include veterinary and feed-related costs, care expenses, investment costs for structural measures, as well as expenses for awareness-raising activities. Applications can be submitted continuously, with approval and disbursement occurring quarterly. For investment grants, a project outline and a detailed project description must be submitted, whereas for operational funding, an informal funding request with an explanation of needs is sufficient. This permanent grant opportunity ensures that animal protection facilities in Tyrol operate sustainably and that animals receive the best possible care.
