Grants to Animal Welfare Organizations

The initiative “Grants to Animal Welfare Institutions” of the State of Tyrol supports non-profit animal shelters in ensuring animal welfare and energy efficiency. Eligible for funding are organizations based or operating in Tyrol that take in and care for lost, abandoned, neglected, or authority-confiscated animals. The focus is on covering ongoing operating costs—such as veterinary expenses, feed, and care costs—as well as investment subsidies for construction and maintenance measures in animal welfare facilities. This program thus contributes to improving climate efficiency standards and protecting the life and well-being of animals. The funds are provided as grants within an annual budgeted total volume of nearly one million euros. Applications can be submitted continuously, enabling flexible planning and long-term security for the institution.

For an application, detailed cost breakdowns of ongoing operating expenses as well as proof of use in the form of invoices and receipts must be submitted. Additionally, insight into the financial management is required to ensure transparency and proper use of funds. Following positive review, the disbursement of funds is made exclusively upon presentation of the proofs. The continuous funding opportunity allows non-profit institutions to plan resources based on needs and to implement investment projects promptly. Thus, the program not only promotes animal welfare but also strengthens the efficiency and sustainability of the supported institutions throughout Tyrol.
