The state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania supports agricultural micro-enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises in investments in agroforestry systems. The goal is to sustainably promote raw material extraction or food production through the establishment of strip-shaped agroforestry tree areas in combination with the cultivation of agricultural crops, to increase biodiversity, and to strengthen climate resilience.

Description
The state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania supports agricultural micro-enterprises as well as small and medium-sized enterprises in investments in agroforestry systems. This grant program enables companies that generate a significant portion of their revenue through soil cultivation or associated livestock farming to invest in the establishment of strip-shaped woody vegetation areas. The aim is to sustainably promote raw material extraction and food production, increase biodiversity, and enhance the climate resilience of agricultural land.
The funding is provided in the form of a grant and covers up to 65 percent of eligible expenses, but no more than €300,000. Eligible costs include, for example, the acquisition of woody plants, planting costs, and the surveying of the areas. Applicants must submit, among other documents, proof of ownership or a consent declaration from the landowners, a detailed investment plan, and a usage concept positively reviewed by LMS Agricultural Consulting. The application deadline runs continuously from 2023 until the end of 2027.
