Blindenstiftung "Weißer Stock" Berlin
About the funder
Martha Maria Martens established the non-profit Blindenstiftung "Weißer Stock" Berlin in her will. In the summer of 2006, the foundation was approved by the Senate Department for Justice. The sole purpose of the foundation is to support self-help for the blind and visually impaired in Berlin. Experienced self-help actors, some of whom are themselves blind, further develop the foundation and decide on the allocation of funds. Upon application by the Allgemeiner Blinden- und Sehbehindertenverein Berlin (ABSV), the foundation provides financial resources for specific projects. Income from small donations up to larger inheritances exclusively benefits the projects of self-help for the blind and visually impaired in Berlin.
