The Federal Ministry of Education, Family, Seniors, Women and Youth (BMBFSFJ) is a supreme federal ministry of the Federal Republic of Germany, headquartered in Berlin with an additional office in Bonn. It is responsible for fundamental, coordination, and legislative tasks in the areas of education, family, child and youth welfare, childcare, social welfare, seniors, women, equality, and civic engagement. The ministry promotes, among other things, infrastructure and educational measures in youth education and youth meeting centers, programs for the prevention of violence and exploitation of children and adolescents, initiatives to support women in emergency situations, equality and inclusion projects, measures against human trafficking, as well as civil society engagement to strengthen democracy (e.g., the federal program "Living Democracy!").
