About the funder

The Caritas Community Foundation in the Archdiocese of Berlin was established in 2005 by the Caritas Association for the Archdiocese of Berlin and is a church-affiliated foundation that supports private donors and benefactors in initiating and managing sustainable charitable projects. It serves as an umbrella foundation for a variety of thematically focused trust and individual foundations (e.g., hospice, youth, and violence prevention foundations) and promotes initiatives aimed at combating poverty and homelessness, supporting families and youth, advancing education, assisting people with disabilities, as well as other social causes within the Archdiocese of Berlin and beyond.

Mission & Vision

We support people in using their assets to initiate and sustain meaningful and long-term funding projects. Our goal is to combat poverty and exclusion, strengthen families, promote young people, and enable comprehensive social-caritative services. In doing so, we rely on sustainable partnerships with donors to jointly make the world a little more just, step by step.

Target groups

The Caritas Community Foundation is aimed, on the one hand, at private individuals, companies, and organizations wishing to establish their own foundation, offering them professional and administrative support for foundation projects. On the other hand, it supports projects and institutions that assist needy and disadvantaged people in various life situations: children, adolescents, families, single parents, women in distress, people with disabilities, elderly or care-dependent individuals, refugees, homeless people, the unemployed, those with addiction issues, as well as anyone facing acute crises.
