The Liebelt Foundation was established in 1995 by Susanne and Michael Liebelt as a non-profit foundation under civil law in Hamburg and has capital of approximately 20 million euros. Its income and donations primarily support contemporary visual arts as well as integrative and educational projects for disadvantaged youth and young adults. Funding activities include, among others, project and program support, scholarships, symposia, exhibition grants, restorations, and initiatives in schools and museums.

Mission & Vision
The Liebelt Foundation aims to strengthen the importance of art for a pluralistic society while integrating socially disadvantaged youth and young adults into society through educational initiatives and support projects. It creates spaces for artistic and scientific innovation and promotes equal opportunities regardless of background and status.
Target groups
The target groups of the Liebelt Foundation in the field of arts and culture include visual artists, art historians, students, curators, art educators, as well as institutions such as art colleges, museums, and off spaces. In the social sector, funding is directed towards non-profit initiatives, schools, associations, and continuing education institutions that support disadvantaged children, adolescents, and young adults in their educational preparation and social integration. Both individuals and project and program initiatives are supported.
