About the funder
The Saxon State Ministry of the Interior (SMI) is a state ministry based in Dresden. It was (re)established in 1990 following German reunification; a predecessor existed since 1831. The SMI is responsible for public security and order, police, fire and disaster protection, municipal affairs, elections, sports, as well as extremism prevention and democracy promotion. Well-known programs include: Municipal Prevention Directive (RL KommPräv), sports funding, Saxon State Prevention Council.
