Description

The printing cost funding provided by the FONTE Foundation supports doctoral and postdoctoral early-career researchers nationwide with outstanding work in the literature and cultural studies of the Early Modern Period, particularly with a gender-specific focus. Only the printing costs of qualified dissertations and habilitation theses demonstrating originality and scientific depth are funded. Applications can be submitted continuously as PDFs; funding decisions are made within three months. The funding period lasts up to twelve months from approval, within which the publication must be completed. As the funding institution, the FONTE Foundation must be mandatorily acknowledged with its logo on the title page.

Requirements for funding include status as an individual early-career researcher in the humanities and a high-quality, outstanding submission. The application documents include, among others, a cover letter, a CV with a passport photo, academic background and publication list, a detailed table of contents with a 5–8 page project description, a publisher’s cost estimate, a detailed financing plan, a sample chapter with images and illustrative material, as well as the dissertation or habilitation evaluation report. The project is assessed based on quality, originality, scope, and scientific content. This funding is aimed at dedicated early-career researchers who wish to present their research results in printed form and thereby make an important contribution to gender-specific literature and cultural studies of the Early Modern Period.
