Description
The Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) offers nationwide financial grants in the form of scholarships for third-country nationals with long-term residence permits as well as recognized asylum seekers and beneficiaries of subsidiary protection who are not entitled to state study grants in Austria. With continuously possible applications, the ÖIF supports both the completion of degree programs and successful integration into the labor market. The funding measure targets private individuals with long-term residence permits and aims to expand educational opportunities and facilitate entry into the primary labor market. Within an annually updated budget, the scholarships are paid out directly to the applicants.
By granting these subsidies, the ÖIF makes an important contribution to a diverse and sustainable coexistence in Austria. The financial relief enables migrants and refugees to focus on their studies as well as to participate in language and orientation courses up to language level C1. Together with the federal government, states, and civil society partners, the ÖIF promotes integrative measures and manages the operational processing of the funding procedures. The requirements include long-term residence entitlement as a third-country national, status as a recognized asylum seeker or beneficiary of subsidiary protection, and exclusion from state study grants. With this funding initiative, the ÖIF contributes to equal opportunities and the professional development of skills essential for a successful professional life in Austria.
