Description

Within the framework of program funding through PKV funds, the German AIDS Foundation provides grants of up to 100% of the incurred personnel and material costs to non-profit HIV/AIDS counseling centers throughout Germany. Application deadlines and co-financing requirements are waived, allowing innovative prevention projects for primary prevention in accordance with § 20a SGB V to be applied for at any time. Funded measures must cover at least one of the mandatory fields of sexual health or anti-social discrimination and are ideally complemented by offerings in the areas of mental health, violence prevention, physical activity, healthy nutrition, or addiction prevention. The focus is on developing participatory and structurally oriented concepts that strengthen the health of disadvantaged target groups and create discrimination-free living environments. Central to this are empowerment approaches, sustainable networking, and evaluation concepts that enable long-term impact analysis.

Only organizations recognized as non-profit are eligible for funding. The application process includes submitting a form (“Antrag_Praeventionsvorhaben.pdf”) as well as optional supporting documents such as webinar slides (“Webinar-Praeventionsvorhaben-DAS-Folien-1.pdf”) and the GKV guideline. Evaluation criteria are participation & empowerment, degree of innovation, and sustainable impact. Non-eligible expenses include construction measures, furniture, public relations without health relevance, individual measures without an overall concept, professional qualifications without a prevention context, and permanently funded positions. After review and positive approval, experts from the Foundation provide advisory support during project implementation. Thus, organizations receive start-up funding to establish health-promoting structures in social living environments and reduce disadvantages – from needs analysis through concrete network meetings to impact evaluation.
